Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog, I hope you are all doing well!
In todays post we are talking all things lipsticks! I do not know about you guys, but lipsticks are one of my favourite makeup products - I seem to have an ever growing collection. They are just that feel good, go to product, that no matter how rubbish you are feeling one day, if you slap on your favourite bright lipstick, you'll be feeling flat out fabulous!

If you have seen my recent Sephora haul blog post, you will know that I picked up a handful of the Too Faced Melted liquified lipsticks on my visit. I had heard so many amazing reviews about these and they had been recommended to me by a lot of people, so I could not wait to try them out for myself.
On the website, Too Faced claim that 'Melted liquified long wear lipstick comfortably coats the lips in bursts of intense, high impact, super rich, saturated colour that lasts for hours', so lets get on with the review and see if we agree.
So, lets start off by talking about initial impressions and the packaging. First of all, I love the fact that the box and the tube matches the shade of the lipstick inside, I feel that this makes for such an easy process when searching in your makeup drawers for a particular shade, as you are just looking for the colour rather than having to look through loads of items labels looking for names. I also like the pop of gold on the detailing and the lid, it gives off a very luxe vibe.
Now, the tube itself is a Carmex-like squeeze tube with a velvety sponge-tip applicator, which dispenses products in little beads when you squeeze it up. At first the sponge applicator seemed a little strange because I haven't used a product like that before, originally I thought it would be quite messy so I was afraid to apply too much pressure to the tube in the fear of lipstick squirting everywhere. But I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get used to and I actually learned to really like the applicator they chose for this. The benefit of this applicator is that it provides a cushiony transfer on your lips, whilst at the same time absorbing excess product so you can get even coverage results and the lips do not look caked in too much product.
So, over all I really like the design and the concept of the packaging - I am one of those people that really appreciates good packaging, so this earns big brownie points for me.
(I do not take credit for these two pictures - I wanted a picture to show you the applicator clearly, but because I have used mine so much, they are particularly dirty - Please do not hate me).

Here are the swatches I have done for the five colours I have. As you can see, they are all UBER pigmented - the colour pay off is just ridiculously incredible, which really impressed me.
Whilst testing out these lipsticks, I have found out that they are a very buildable product. So, if you are just after a light wash of colour, you can lightly brush the applicator over the lips squeezing out minimal amounts of product. Whereas, if you want a more intense look, you can put on extra product to build it to its full intensity to show the true colour of the shade. I absolutely love this about the lipsticks, as it means even the brightest colours can be muted down for everyday wear.
The formula of these is typically liquid lipstick like. They feel super smooth when they are applied onto the lips and are very creamy and buttery - They do not give off that dreaded stickiness feeling once they are dried, so your lips are not going to feel tacky and as if they are sticking together throughout the day. They make the lips feel very moisturised, the formula is not drying at all which gets a big thumbs up from me. This is one reason why I often stay away from Matte finish lipsticks, because one thing I truly hate is the feeling of dry lips, soft and supple lips feel and look so much more luscious.

On the Too Faced website, it states that the finish of these lipsticks is extremely high-shine and glossy, which I actually have to disagree with. Once they have dried on the lips, I find them to be much more of a satin finish, I mean I see a slight shine, but I do not see much of a gloss look.
As the lipsticks claim to have the staying power of a stain, you would expect them to stay in place all day without budging, which I personally agree with, however I think it really varies between different people depending on how long your average day is. On an average day I have makeup on for about 7 hours and I would say that these tend to hold up for that length of time. Once I finish work, I can still see the colour on my lips, it might not be as intense, but you can definitely see the product still. So, without even touching up throughout the day, they will stay put and last a long time. In this time I also find that no product bleeds onto the skin, which is a bonus for me, as this is an issue I get with some specific MAC lipsticks and it drives me craaaazy.

Melted Peony
Melted Peony is slightly muted and is such a gorgeous everyday pink shade. I absolutely love this colour, it will go with so many different makeup looks as it is super subtle.

Melted Fig
Melted fig I purchased on a bit of a whim because it is so different to any other shade of lipstick I own, and I am so glad I bought it. The shade is a fairly dark, toned down purple that would suit so many different skin tones. This colour might not be neon or bright like some of the others, it is much more subtle, but I would still class it as a bold lip colour!
I could imagine this colour looking incredible when you are wearing grey, white and black - so it is the perfect match for my monochrome wardrobe!

Melted Coral
If you guys have followed my blog for a while, you will know that Coral lips are my absolute fave! One of my holy grail lipsticks is Costa Chic by MAC, I have used it for years now and it is just a go-to colour for me. I feel that because I am so super pale, bright colours compliment my skin tone more. Personally out of all 5 colours I own, this one is definitely my favourite, I can see me grabbing for this one constantly during Spring and Summer! This shade is a very vibrant orange which is not subtle at all, it really does stand out by being so bright and neon. However, I still find it to be quite a wearable shade as it is a fairly darker orange shade.

Melted Candy
This shade is another one of my favourites, it is such a lovely pink. Even though this shade is very bright and neon it is still very wearable. I think this is because it is a dark shade of pink, so it reduces the intensity of the neon, so it does not look as 'out there'.

Melted Fuchsia
Ahhh, I love this colour, it is the perfect party pink shade - Super bright, super bold and super fun! Compared to Melted Candy, this colour is much more intense, and probably not as wearable for everyday makeup looks. If you do not like bright lips that stand out, this one is definitely not for you as it is not toned down at all. However, If you do like a shade that will make your lips pop and stand out in the crowd, you will be happy with this one!
I believe all together in this collection there are 18 colours, which is a huge colour range. The shades go from pale nudes and pinks to deep reds and purples, so there is definitely something for everybody - there is a shade out there to suit every skin tone. If you would like to check out all of the other colours or purchase any of these ones mentioned then you can click here.

Now, on to everybody's most dreaded part - the price point! These retail at £15 if they are bought through the Too Faced website (which have just recently started shipping to the UK - WooHoo) or if they are purchased through other stores, such as Debenhams, they are sold at £19 each. They are quite a pricey product, but I would say they are 100 percent worth the splurge as they are an amazing product. I am so glad I picked up these ones and after testing them out, I cannot wait to get my hands on more shades - Sorry bank account, but I would love to eventually get the whole collection.

Not that I want to tempt you guys any further, but for Spring Summer 2015 Too Faced have bought out another range called the 'Melted Metal' collection. These are the same concept as the original melted, but the shades are all metallic.
I am yet to purchase any of these, as personally I am not too keen on the metallic kind of look, so I do not want to feel like I am wasting money on a product I will grab for very rarely. However, if you like the sound of these ones you can check them out here.

I hope you guys all really enjoyed this review post, and hopefully it has given you a little bit of insight into the Melted lipsticks. If you have been sitting on the fence with these and could not decide on weather to purchase any yourself, go and get some NOW, like right now, close down the computer screen and GO! You will not regret it! Let me know down in the comments what your favourite shades in this range are, or which ones you are wanting to get your hands on.
Thank you guys so much for reading. Do not forget to follow me on Bloglovin' to make sure you do not miss out on any future posts, and in that case, I will see you soon.

Lots of Love,
