Anastasia Beverly Hills is truly off to an amazing start of 2016 with all of the new items they are releasing. It is only February and they are already introducing so many incredible products to their range.
When I saw that one of the new launches for the beginning of the year was a new eyebrow pencil I could not wait to get my hands on it. Anastasia Soare (The founder of Anastasia Beverly Hills) is honestly the queen of eyebrows. I have been using her eyebrow products religiously for well over a year now and I cannot see myself ever using anything else because they just work like an absolute dream. Having tried both the famous Brow Wiz and the Dipbrow pomade, I am excited to test out the new Brow Definer to see how it compares!

The new Brow Definer has taken two years to formulate and perfect, which is very impressive and it is clear that a lot of thought has gone into the creation of the product.
In comparison to the classic Brow Wiz pencil the Brow Definer pencil is much thicker, and it has a triangular tip which gives three different angles for application. It has been designed this way so that you can easily outline and fill in your eyebrows with just one product, genius right?
The three angles that the unique triangular tip gives you are;
 THIN || Use the sharpest point of the tip to create fine, hair-like strokes.
 MEDIUM || Use the back side of the pencil to create thicker hair-like strokes.
 WIDE || Use the pencil on its side to create broad strokes.

Similarly to the Brow Wiz, each Brow Definer is also double ended. On one end is the retractable mechanical pencil and the other end is the custom spooley. I completely appreciate the spooley being included in each product and this is what I use to help blend out the product through the brows and to brush the brow hairs in the direction I want them to be. If you don't already use a spooley brush for your eyebrows I cannot recommend one enough!

With the Brow Definer you are also getting a lot more product than you get with the Brow Wiz. The Brow Definer gives you 0.2g / 0.007 Oz of product, whilst the Brow Wiz contains just 0.085g / 0.003 Oz. The Brow Definer retails at £16 while the Brow Wiz is only 50 pence cheaper at £15.50. In my opinion you are getting much more bang for your buck if you opt for one of the new Brow Definers.

Every eyebrow product in the Anastasia Beverly Hills range comes in a broad variety of shades. The new Brow Definer pencil is available to buy in a whooping 10 different shades to match every hair colour possible.
The ten shades consist of;
 Blonde, Taupe, Soft Brown, Medium Brown, Caramel, Auburn, Chocolate, Dark Brown, Ebony and Granite.
They really do cater for everyone and you definitely should not struggle to find a shade perfect for you. If you would like a little guidance then you can try to match yourself here on the website as they have swatches on there of each shade that they have to offer.

The consistency of the product itself I would say is mid way between creamy and hard, which I actually really like because it means that the product is not so soft that it will smear everywhere but it is still easily blendable.  The hardness of the pencil allows you to get great definition and a strong detailed line to create the illusion of fine, brow-like hairs.
I am not too sure what the longevity of the product is meant to be, but after using this pencil a few times now I can tell that it will wear for a long time on the brows. I have been wearing it for 12 hour days at work and by the end of my shift it has not budged or smeared and my eyebrows are still in tact.  However, I do actually use the Anastasia Beverly Hills clear brow gel to set my brows in place, which of course helps with how long the product will last. The length of wear may alter if you do not set your brows in place.
No where does it state that the formula of the Brow Definer is waterproof, but I do find that the product can often be quite hard to wash off at the end of the day. I have to really scrub my brows with some micellar water and a cotton pad to ensure the product is completely gone. Admittedly, I do quite like having a product that is fairly stubborn to wash off because it is a good sign when testing the longevity of a product!
I am really liking every aspect of this new brow pencil and if you love the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, I am sure you will love these as well!

Overall I am really enjoying the Brow Definer at the moment. I am still playing around with it and trying to learn the most effective way to apply it for perfect results, but so far so good. I love how much more natural it makes my eyebrows look compared to the Dipbrow Pomade, but I am not sure if this pencil will take the place of my beloved pomade just yet!
Have you tried out the Brow Definer or any of the other new releases from Anastasia Beverly Hills yet? Next on my list is the new Glow Kits..they look so dreamy!
