Over the past couple of years a nude lip has inadvertently become a 'signature' look of mine. Pretty much every makeup look I ever create, I will pair with a classic nude lip, because I really do just love the way it looks.
It transforms my lips and gives them the definition which they unfortunately lack, without leaving the sensation of looking too 'over done'. It also softens all of my features whilst ensuring that I look put together and polished..just the way I like it.
Recently, the quest to find the perfect nude shade is something that many of us are on..Is it the right shade for my skin tone? Does it wash me out? Do I suit cooler or warmer toned nudes? Do I prefer a matte finish or a sheen finish? MAC or Charlotte Tilbury?..The hurdles which we face when attempting to settle on one are onerous, and with so much choice, why would we want to settle for just one? Matte, satin, liquid or gloss, I have put together my favourite lip combinations from a variety of brands which have absolutely nailed it when it comes to nude lips.

 Dose of Colors || Truffle
A liquid-matte lipstick that feels smooth and hydrating on the lips? YES PLEASE! Dose of Colors got it spot on with their range of liquid lipsticks, and they are definitely some of my favourites around. The shade Truffle from their collection, sits right at the top of my nude spectrum with its stunning warm peach tones and creamy formula. Comparable to Velvet Teddy by M.A.C Cosmetics, just slightly darker, it makes for the ultimate nude shade that everybody needs in their collection. Being a matte liquid lipstick Truffle provides opaque coverage and great longevity throughout the day, however it does still leave behind an extremely subtle sheen on the lips, keeping them feeling ever so slightly hydrated and moisturised - It seems to be more of a Demi-Matte liquid lipstick than a regular matte, in my opinion.

 MAC Cosmetics || Lady-Be-Good
Not just a matte liquid lipstick, but a Retro matte liquid lipstick, Lady-Be-Good from M.A.C Cosmetics will offer incredible pigmentation that will last all day long on the lips, with just one application. It does not budge. Lady-Be-Good is a lovely warm, peachy toned nude, which is amazing for Spring and Summer time, however it offers no shine or hydration to the lips at just gives a very flat, matte finish. Personally, I love the finish, but I know many people think the formula is too drying.

 MAC Cosmetics || Myth
The lightest one of the bunch, and the one that could be deemed as giving off the appearance of the dreaded 'foundation lips' if worn wrongly is Myth from M.A.C Cosmetics. This is the shade that taught me all I need to know about creating the perfect shade for your skin tone. With its cool, pale pink beige tone, Myth was not made for deeper complexions, however it is an easy colour to manipulate to make it more versatile. Simply introduce a base of warming tones, by using a lip liner like Spice from M.A.C Cosmetics, and you are able to tailor make your own perfect satin nude finish.

 Ciaté London X Olivia Palermo || Cashmere
The newest nude addition to my essential combinations comes from the beauty brand, Ciaté London. The Satin Kiss lipstick in the shade Cashmere is a part of their collaboration collection with the oh so gorgeous, Olivia Palermo. Cashmere is a warm toned, true nude which is beautifully rich in colour. It is definitely one of the most hydrating of them all, with its soft satin finish, and it is the perfect nude for everyday wear.

 Charlotte Tilbury || Confession
The one that started my endless love affair with nude lipstick and my fail safe everyday nude shade, Charlotte Tilbury's Confession. Layered over the top of Pillowtalk lipliner, also from Miss Tilbury, this makes for the perfect warm toned, pinky-nude shade. Unfortunately this one was a Limited Edition Charlotte Tilbury lipstick for the Holidays, so I try to be sparing with how much I use it, just so it lasts as long as possible! Being a frost finish, this one has a very subtle shimmer through it, which definitely sets it apart from my other favourite nude shades. The creamy formula delivers the very best feeling of a gloss, along with that of a lipstick, leaving a defined lip with sumptuous hydration and opaque pigment.

These are just a small handful of the nude lipsticks that I own, but they are without a doubt five of my absolute favourites, which I gravitate towards on a regular basis.
What are your opinions on the latest nude lip trend? Which are your favourite nude lipsticks?
